If you’ve visited Central NY, it’s likely that you’ve checked out one of the best small towns in the country – Skaneateles. The village is set on the northern end of beautiful Skaneateles Lake. The lake offers exceptional recreational possibilities and plenty of interesting shops and restaurants to sample as you stroll the town. But in addition, we recommend you venture beyond the boundary of the village proper and head due north (just follow Skaneateles Creek) about 2 miles to Skaneateles Brewery. Built in a former mill building, the brewery has a cozy tap room, spacious outdoor seating with fire pits, and on many a day, a food truck and live music. The beer is excellent and whether a balmy summer day or crisp fall evening, you can’t help but relax and feel like you’ve just stepped a tad off the grid. (side note: also in the mill building is award winning Last Shot Distillery. So if you’re looking for something a bit stronger…..)
